1929 Front Crossmembers...

Does anyone have any 1929 Model A or AA frames for which I could get some information off of?

Here is what I need...

I am upgrading the article I did about the Starting Crank Bearing but this time I need some information on the holes (round and oblong) on the 1929 Front Cross Member for which the Starting Crank Bearing sits in.

What I need, if you can get a few minutes to look, are the placement of the two holes on either side of the square hole for the top of the spring bolt.

Could you stand in front of the cross member and note what side of the square hole is the round hole and the oblong hole.

In other words is the round hole on the right or left side of the square hole, and/or is the oblong hole on the right or left side of the square hole.

All 1928 Front Cross Members had round holes but the 1929 Front Cross Members had both, round and oblong.

Thank you.

March 29 AA front crossmember - both round holes

Thank you SeaSlugs...

And this is what is confusing...All the "A" frame front crossmembers I have seen have the elongated hole on the PASSENGER side; and all the "AA" frame front crossmembers have the elongated hole on the DRIVERS side and I do not know why.

huh weird... maybe they did that for easy recognition of the 2 crossmembers during assembly???
