"New" Ford picture found - Explained

Sometimes when I joke around my wife says, 'What's so funny?'. A couple guys were wondering what Ford was holding and what is so funny.

Well, this photo is a lighthearted way to poke fun at myself and others who like to do things "by the book". The book we go by is the Model A Judging Standards. In this photo Henry Ford is supposedly holding a copy of the 2011 JS close to his chest as if he and Edsel also had to do things "by the book".:D

As any comedian knows, if you have to explain your joke it loses some of its humor. Obviously my delivery lacked because it only took me something like 27 edits to get the photo visible and then it kept on disappearing.:o

The reason I asked my son to modify the photo was that I saw that this Fordor has colored wheels. A good caption for this photo would be, "Dang it Edsel didn't you read in the JS that we are not suppose to have anything but black wheels on these vehicles!"

Now that we know "the rest of the story" I hope that more can enjoy my attempt at humor.;)

Would any of you like to write a caption for the photo? :)

First, the photo is giant but no one can see it.

Then some can see the photo and those who see it can only see it sometimes.

Now the photo is tiny and many can 't see it.

Why is it so difficult to get photos onto this site?

Open your photo album and the photo you want to post in the thread. Copy the picture's URL below the photo and then when you are replying to a thread or starting a new thread click on the icon for "insert image" and paste the URL in the box below the statement "Please enter the URL of your image.

hope this helps

Thanks 160B. That is what I thought I did. The confusing thing is that I get different results every time I do it. A photo that I put on the early V8 Fordbarn is doing fine. Go figure.

As for your signature quote:
If you don't have time to do it right the 1st time, how do you have time do do it the 2nd time?
My thing is that I like to get things done right the first time. That is why it is so frustrating to have to do it over and over. Maybe I should just take a vacation from this site.

"Hey Edsel, Let's produce some that don't match anything in this book and take it to the grave!", says a mischievous Mr. Ford.

I'm trying the recommended way that Qgolden suggested.

Fingers crossed.

Now I've got photo size envy because Gweilbaker's photo is larger!!

P.S. Gweilbaker, that caption is great!

That picture looks made up because the shoes he is wearing do not look quite right for the time the picture was taken.
Pretty sure he did not have those shoes till Sept 1931.

Gyrodoc, many early ones had the cowl vent. Hopefully someone with that knowledge (Marco, Doug, et al.) can answer that.

This car also had that interesting (plexiglass?) windshield visor and wheels painted a color other than black.

Vince, your international traveler and compassionate side is so obvious!

Runnerbun, does one blow with a 5 lb hammer work as well?
