Les Andrews book sticker shock !

Tom, are you using the "do not call" service?

I put myself on the "do not call list" a few years ago and it helped. Maybe it expires after a couple years because the crap calls really come in lately.

My neighbor has a message on her phone that says: "If this is a sales call, hang up now. If not stay on the line and I will pick up". This happens before any ringing starts. I'll have to look into it, but it's probably part of some phone package you have to buy.

Scammers are everywhere. Wish I could get them off my phone. 3 of every 4 calls is spam crap.

Go to Radio Shack and buy a TeleZapper. When you answer your phone it makes a tone that tells the computer that dialed your number that it is not is service. The computer will hang up then remove your number from it memory. When you hear the phone ring and you answer it and no one is there you grin because you have just killed another one.:D

I think this has to be an error. Does any one know the contact info for Mr Andrews? He should contact Amazon and get this fixed.

Amazon isn't selling them. They are listing them for a private seller.

As to the books on amazon it is like CarlG said private sellers same idea as those that try to sell on ebay for insane prices.
Telephone I got rid of my land line years ago no need to pay a monthly fee to receive useless sales calls. All I need is a cell phone

I've heard that when you pick up the phone and there is the delay/and or nobody there, start hitting the '#' key over and over and over in quick succession. It screws up the robo-dialer on the other end and it will delete your number.

I always had sport with telemarketers. As soon as they launched into their speil I'd interrupt with "I'd like a large pepperoni with extra anchovies" They always reply "I'm not selling pizzas sir." Then I say "Well that's a shame because that's the only thing I buy over the phone." and hang up.

Another fun one was to say "I got NO job and NO money." They hang up.

But my son came up with the best one. His phone ran through his computer. He had a program that operated in such a way that if it was a known number on his list his phone rang as normal. If the program did not recognize the number his phone would not ring but the computer answered (silently to him) with a mans voice hurriedly saying "Hold on just a moment please" it would then play for them the most annoying Klezmer music known to man till they hung up or the cows came home.

haha same i try to remember some infomercial from TV and start touting whatever they are selling, telemarketer gives up after i say but wait now you get two (insert useless junk here)

Can't blame Amazon for pricing as Carl says.
You can list and charge whatever you like as an individual on Amazon. Amazon has nothing to do with it other then take their 20% cut....

When you get a call from a private unrecognized number, just pick up the phone and quietly say: Ya, it's done, but there is blood everywhere, I am still cleaning up, call you back. And hang up. Might as well have a little fun with it. :p

Nope, the Do Not Call list does not work, Been there and done that more than once. Even when you wait and talk to a person and tell them to remove your number from their call list it still doesn't work. I wish there was a way to fix it.

Only one way that I know of, NO communication devices.
