40 Coupe rollover

That is so sad.
Could the vehicle have been tied down incorrectly, incresing it's chances of sliding off the trailer? One photo suggests it was tied down using the front bumper. Should it be tied down by the axles, bumpers or something else? What's the best way to tie a vehicle down on a trailer?

As you can see in this picture, the hitch broke in half.
From what I've heard,,,,,, the trailer rolled too.

Ratchet straps (4) to the axles .. rears pulling back - fronts pulling forward . Preferably in an X … pulling corner to corner.

Yeah
I hope this coupe gets fixed and not parted out
With all parts in hand it wouldn’t take long to have it back in shape….Id love to get my hands on it.

i was thinking a padded top to hide the worst of the repairs until this came up http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87209 maybe they will sell a brand new replacement roof?

The rolled '40 does Not need a complete body, that's a waste of money,
it needs a roof clip, and a nice Used one from a doner car won't break the
bank. Even with the labor to do the clip, it's still the best way to go. ;)

lesson learned "rich don't mean smart" looks like a kid ran those straps.if someone knew how to secure a load it never would have happened .such a shame my sympathy

Granted, the straps were done improperly, but that didn't cause the wreck.
You should read the whole thread, the new owner RAN A STOP SIGN, and
got hit, which caused it to roll over.

so you're saying the new owner not only secured the wrong but then ran a stop sign.proves my quote "rich don't mean smart" to bad the car got bought by a nitwit

The only folks I've ever met that don't make nor have never made a mistake are either liars - fools - idiots or government employees . The truck-trailer are definately not new nor high buck . So why does this poor fella deserve the slamming you are giving him ? Has he not had enough bad already ?

the car has so much publicity now, Carpenter should buy it, hire a good metal man and use his panels to replace the damaged ones.
take a lot of photos. he would end up with a nice 40 and good advertising!

What a disappointment for the purchaser ,He was mostlikly was so excited by the purchase and a little laps of concentration .I hope he able to repair it .I notice the tow hitch looks like ductile iron ,I would have thought that would be a no no .
