Barnfind in Denmark

I have just looked thru the earlier photo's The fender lights are not the same as the English ones .
I also think they are later .Sometimes peoples memories are off a bit after 80+ years!!! Heck I have problems remembering yesterday!!!!

The English ones by 1931 were Stainless and a similar shape to the headlights

Yes, you´re right, it not easy to remember after all this years.. So i will try to ask the old man to take a look in the old Photo album, and by that way find something.....
I will try to ask some old Model A peoble in Denmark to locate the fendre lights....

Per,

And as you can se, the Head has as bad scar...And i have found another, but it has to be grinded first. So in a few days i hope to get it back and try to start the car...

The engine looks good and the crack is identical to the crack that was in my 1928 when I bought it. The owner just had water and Minnesota had an early freeze in September, which cracked the head, even though it was parked inside a garage.

Hi Per
Re 'fender lamps', here are the two types used by Ford UK. The early 'bullet 'type was also used on late Model T's. The later type is similar to the US cowlamp & is the same as the fenderlamp sold in the US as an accessory. You will know if your car originally had a fender lamp by whether the cowl is drilled for the cowlamps that were on all Town Sedans that did not require fenderlamps in some foreign markets. The ones on your car may well have been put on later. You probably know if Denmark required cars in the Model A era to be fitted with fender lamps?
Your Model A may well have originated at Manchester as Dagenham did not start production until Oct. 1931. Bodywork may be US origin & assembled/finished in Europe as Briggs Sedans only started manufacture at Dagenhan from 1932 with the Model AB & 14 small bore B4.
You appear to be making good progress with the car.

The car is looking good. English assembled Model A's sold within the UK did not come with cowl lamps because they were equipped with fender lamps as required by English law, even if it was a 'deluxe' model. Cars exported onto Europe could have had different lighting supplied at final assembly. The fender lamps on your car do not appear to be English supplied [ they were same style as cowl lamp but slighly smaller] but they do suit the car. Are there any marks on them to indicate maker?

Today i have look on the small lights, and there is no name or markets...
I am 100% sure that the cowl lamps is orig. mounted, there is orig wire to the cowl. The car has only one owner, and he get the car delivered on 12.juli 1931 with cowl light and the small fender lamps....

Per,

If you are keeping the car an unrestored good barn find, then I wouldn't paint them.

Sometimes it's a tough call.
