Getting stiffed by a fellow barner?

Is there any coarse of action that can be done if a fellow barner doesn't hold up there end of the deal? Without going into to much detail...I paid for an item about seven weeks ago (postal money order) and still after seven weeks I have not recieved my goods, all I get is lame excuses, it will go out this week, I was out of town, the shipper wants more money than they originally quoted, bla bla bla. Still after all this nothing. So I ask you what would you do?

Thanks in advance,
Drew

I would lay it on the line with him to hold up his end of the bargain or you will file a complaint whith the feds for using the mails/telephone/internet to commit fraud. The Feds will take it from there.

Tell him you want your money back(don't take his check!) and tell him if you don't get it that you will go to the postal authorities. Guys like this need a "wake-up call".

I can't believe a fellow Barner would do that! I would give him one day to get it in the mail and you a tracking number, If he doesn't come through blast him on a post, that way no other barner's will buy from him in the future!
I have never had a problem with someone from the Barn, as a mater a fact I sent out a part today to someone before I even got paid!

I had a similar problem with some top rails I paid for. The delivery took 2 months.....I googled his name( in Ohio) and found others that had the same problem ...In the search I found someone on the HAMB that was a friend of the seller and had helped someone else...... He was kind enough to call the seller for me too....The seller contacted me the next day with a tracking number....I was lucky....Good luck

might try the same thing as the HAMBer did....location of the 'Barner??....maybe someone in that area could touch base with him/her, etc....Mike

I had a similar experience in which I got many creative excuses, then no answer to my inquiries. I'm a member of the V8 Club, so I found another member who lived less than a mile away from the guy, and explained my dilemma. I never heard what he did, but I got an apology the next day and recieved my part in 4 days. This was a seller from Hemmings, located in Long Island. I like to think he got an offer he couldn't refuse!

Also, just being on here doesn't make you a barner. If the only posts are to sell or buy, that is not a barner to me.

What was the item? Is it particularly large, heavy, fragile, or odd size that makes shipping difficult?

I sold a LARGE rocking horse on Ebay and wasn't interested in shipping so I listed it Local PickUp only. A bidder talked me into shipping if he made the arrangements and paid the freight. I ended up building a wooden crate to safely contain the rocking horse and then taking it to two different freight outfits. When the buyer found out the freight was close to $200 he backed out.
Not saying this is your situation, but we'd like to know more details on why the seller might be having problems shipping it.

Lawson, Have you ever filed a claim in regards to a US Money Order?
Good luck on getting ANY action whatsoever.
Seriously, won't happen. Sending a US money order does little to nothing to protect the buyer. A very common misconception unfortunately.

I was also stiffed by a complete LOOSER who is a member of this Website as well as the HAMB.

If anyone has contact with this A$$ Ask him where all my 1938 Ford Parts are???

""My last Phone call to Ray was he does not have the money to ship the items""

If any one lives near this remote PA. Town let me know as I am in Ontario Canada and would love to have my parts back.

I knew I should have not trusted that A$$

I was stiffed by RON KEVERN about three years ago. I had a person in town talk to his father. I got in touch with the Sheriff in Muskegon MI. They finally arrested him on other outstanding warrants. I faxed all the paper work to the Detective handling his case. I haven't herd anything for another two years. He beat me for six hundred and seventy five dollars for a chassis he never delivered. I checked his name on the HAMB and found it on BAD SELLERS. He must have been stiffing members on here.

Oh, Ron Kevern from Muskegon, Mi. I thought that name sounded familiar, so i checked my ebay records. He stiffed me on an ebay buy i made from him 4/09. i sent the money - he never sent the parts. I wasted my time reporting this creep to ebay and i never got anything !
ebay wouldn't even pull his ads off their $ite. they allowed him to continue to sell while they "investigated".
