Anyone know of a liquid used for the 33/34 gas gauge that doesn’t go clear with time? Thanks Carl
As finnicky as the 'red' is, I slid a red card-stock in my '33 gauge; the gauge appears now as if it is 3/4 full all the time.. Use a late '30s electric gauge under the dash on either side of the steering column.

HMMM. Sounds like the piece of black electrical tape I stuck over the "Check Engine" light in my old beater pickup.![]()
For what it is worth. Was told by a couple of high end restorations shop guys I met or toured their shops, about Straight Eight as they sell to the Duesenberg/Licncoln/V16 Cadillac/Packard crowd....their red dye "lasts" .....I bought into the hype.

Thank you Pete, ALSO what I meant to say in my post by referencing what I did....That clientele does not spend money on something that will fade in two or three years....At least that was my belief and reading between the lines take from it all
I bought the stuff from straight eight. It was in a very small bottle and faded. The stuff from Renner's is a much larger bottle and has a nice fitting to squeeze it into the gauge. I recommend Renner's.
