I've found that the fit of most 19" tires is so tight in the wells anyhow that I'd hate to add any additional thickness. Most 19" tires 've seen are 4.75/5.00 x 19, the only tire I know of that is advertised as 4.75 x 19" is the Goodyears.Hello, I was asked about undercoating the inside of spare tire well , didn’t think it would be a good idea to, tire rubber might stick also if you have white walls, it may discolor them. Any input from Ford Barners ?
One trick to place the spare tire in the well is to remove the air, then place the tire in position, then fill up the tire with air again.
A risk to be sure, but I carry a battery-powered air compressor and a battery-powered jump box. The former has saved my bacon a couple of times, and one time in the middle of Utah I wish to hell I'd had it.Yah, you can't get mine out of the well (or back in) without letting a good bit of air out first. I just bought a special fill adapter so I can use a modern pump chuck. I don't like storing battery powered stuff in the car, so I have a bicycle pump.
