Help with installing a 32 dash insert with gauges in a 31 coupe

I recently purchased a ’32‑style dash panel for my Model A and plan to install it along with a full set of electric gauges. I’m using Speedhut gauges: GPS speedometer, oil pressure, water temp, fuel level, air/fuel ratio, plus a cell‑phone charging port.

I’m keeping the original cowl fuel tank, but I’ve converted the stock mechanical fuel gauge to an electric sending unit so it can work with the new fuel gauge (the original gauge will be hidden behind the new dash).

The car has been converted to 12 volts to support the new gauges, and I’ll also be mounting a tachometer on the steering column.

My concern is the limited space between the back of the new dash panel and the fuel tank. Has anyone here done this conversion, and if so, what modifications or tricks did you use to make everything fit and function properly?

He said he IS using the original tank, just putting the later dash cover over it.I believe there is a replacement 32 STYLE dash that does fit over the original A tank.Runs the whole width, and stands away from the original tank.

ooooh!

and how is he going to put a electric fuel gauge sender into that original tank?

any hotrod i built (lots of them) never used the original tank, it was relocated into the trunk or under the car.

Sounds like it's already done. Converted past tense vs Converting future tense.
