Pretty straight forward, right? I was changing a bulb that blew out on the high beam side. For four hours. I never did get it put back in, started losing my patience quit and walked away.

I don't fault the design I blame the cheap a++ Vintique parts that were used for the assy. What a pile of dog doo doo.

Is there any trick to trying to hold it all together, the reflector on to the three little brass studs that hold the reflector and bulb in place? And then get the bulb onto that afterwards? It is really hard to get the bulb on to twist it to lock. With original FORD parts it would be a two minute maybe three minutes top to do this job.

Any suggestions much appreciated. Thank you:)

My experience with aftermarket bulb sockets is the same, they do not work well at all. My observation is that the original Ford sockets use spring steel for the three legs of the socket and aftermarket units are regular steel and do not work.

I ended up getting original sockets and the same, solder in new wires.

Remove the reflector and light bulb socket, wearing a glove, just in case, depress the bulb while holding the socket and then turn. Reverse procedure to install, being careful to get the new bulb, if marked "TOP" to wind up on the top.

Thanks Gary I can see that is about the only thing that can be done... I will seek out original sockets..

Thanks also Terry, wearing a glove is not a bad idea that bulb might break! The reflectors the last guy put in are chrome plated plastic I will also look for original reflectors.....
