offset bottom hoses clearance problem

I know this might have been covered before but I have a real clearance problem on the bottom hoses for my 32 Ford. The radiator bottom outlets are about 3 inches above the outlets of my water pumps. I have a 50 Merc engine with Ford water pumps to look more like the Ford Design. Is there some sort of offset hose adapter or hose that I can get from point A to point B Many thanks Tom Gormley

I've seen those before, but I don't remember who makes them. Did you try asking on the HAMB forum? Lot's more folks with later flathead into earlier Ford engine swap experience over there.

There was a guy in Europe that had produced some lower hoses with the correct offset for connecting a 24-stud to a '32 radiator. He had posts on the HAMB.

This is the offset for 32 hoses

I have a chassis I've been working on with a 59A engine. The engine is mounted with the original front '32 forged motor mounts, so I know that it's at the right height. I always see them mounted too high in the frame when people weld in the 24-stud water pump motor mounts. The 24-stud water pump motor mounts are actually a better setup, but I didn't want to weld mounts on my original frame, so I used the original '32 mounts. Every single flathead engine I have seen has the holes for the '32 mounts, from '32 to '53, except for one of them I have. They were never drilled in that block. With the engine mounted at the "original" height, 24 stud water pumps lower outlets are at a different position than the original 21 studs, so you have to find lower hoses with the offsets. Years ago, I bought a pair of those cast offsets, and they wouldn't work. I called the guy, and he said he had never actually put a pair in a '32 with original '32 mounts but he would be happy to cast some for me with a different offset. That was years ago so maybe he's corrected the problem by now. The amount of offset would depend on how high the front of the motor was mounted so they might work on one '32 and not another. Instead, I went down to the Autoparts store, and they let me go through their hoses until I found one that had that had a sharp offset in it. I bought two of them, cut out the sections I needed and that worked great. Somewhere around here I have the part number for the hose, but I had stroke, and I don't know where I filed them at.

I went out and looked at my '32 chassis with the 24-stud motor. One thing I forgot to mention was the offset lower hoses were going to rub on the motor mount bolt threads, even if I would have cut all the extra threads off of them, they were still going to hit the hoses. I had to flip the motor mount bolts upside down so the nut and threads were on the bottom of the crossmember. Even with that, the bolt head is awfully close to the hoses, but it will work. I also cut the mounting arms off of the 24 stud water pumps since they were not used, it looks really nice. There's a reason why people weld in those side motor mounts on the frame when putting a 24 stud in a '32, but I just couldn't do that to this nice unmolested original frame. My dad was a restorer, no welding. no drilling, nothing that's not original. Makes it hard to build a hot rod but I try not to drill extra holes and weld on stuff.

AULIZ is the member on the HAMB that is selling these offset style hoses.
Very reasonable and quality product reasonably priced too. I bought a few sets and have been very pleased. He is located in Finland so shipping is a bit longer.

Here is his email. Excellent product and fits. We paid $50 a set awhile back plus shipping a year or 2 ago. He has them special made.

Thank goodness Auliz took the initiative to "step up" and make those little hoses.
Thank you, Auliz.
