Has anyone had this carb issue? Main jet separated!

Took my car out for a ride last night and got about a mile from home when it sputtered and died. Got out to see what was going on and gas was pouring from the carburetor. Couldn't figure it out on the side of the road so I had to tow it home. Got the carburetor apart and saw the main jet had lost a piece. Upon further investigation I found the missing piece laying in the port feeding 3&4 cylinder. Thank goodness that I didn't just fix and try starting it up! Have you ever seen this happen before?

Never seen that happen before. There's always a first time.

I have been around A's my entire life and don't remember seeing this before either! P.S. I'm glad it wasn't just me.
Fyi, I'm not sure if this was an original or a reproduction.

Yes left original right repro

Both pictures are of the same part. Together is what it's supposed to look like, apart is how I found it.

The Ford engineers generally knew what they were doing and only made a few mistakes. People making reproduction parts should pay attention.

I agree nkaminar! If you look closely at the picture you'll see little to no solder on either piece. No wonder it came apart!

More “high quality “ parts ,been fighting them since start of restoration. Lot of people making this repro junk really don’t care and the vendor that sell it has to suffer complaints from customers.

ON a RHD car, the long jet that hangs down when the bottom is taken off (can't remember its name) usually gets bent when that is done because the steering box prevents it dropping straight down. Not well thought through! After a while, bend, straighten, bend straighten etc becomes too much and it breaks. I've seen it a number of times
