Is this a 1932 Ford horn with wrong mount?

I cleaned it to bare metal, no name
Tag has 6 932
It's not a Sparton, mount doesn't match 1932
Is it an EA or other brand, or not Ford at all?
I tested it on 12 volt, works.
I want to list it for sale , but need to know what I have.
Thanks
Roy

Yes, the horn is a '32 Ford motor-driven horn. The bracket may not be a Ford part, but it was designed to be used with a ******** horn, not a a motor-driven horn.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to guess it's an Eaton Labotories horn without markings. I'll post it in the Swap meet section.

IF it helps you, the two 32 horn brackets.....short and tall. More pictures of the tall than short. The short is reproduced

Thanks for your effort. It helps with the education. With Ford , a horn is not just a horn, many variations. Learned a lot already.
I'm guessing someone mounted this to a different car , using the bracket he had.
I've found a new owner for this, thanks to all the help here.

Robert,

The bracket with a hand on it in your photos is the later version used only with the ******** horn released later in the model year. The short one made from a single piece of steel is the early version and correctly used only with motor-driven horns like the one in the photos in this thread.

Thank you very much for the clarification David....SO I guess the ******** horn ALSO coincides with the narrower flange width of the front fenders/i.e. late production?

The Ooga motor driven horn with its bracket sits lower hence probably reason for the tapered rear cover to clear the fender. With the taller ******** horn bracket the horn sits higher and allows for more clearance.

Correct....I guess my question....Our cars engine log number puts it as an mid August production (engine/trans).....SO being that late must mean our car "technically" could/should be a ******** horn......as you can see in the picture....the boattail with the early bracket cant's the horn to the side and no even with the tapered rear cover it doesn't clear, it doesn't sit straight. the inner flange of the fender is too narrow for it to sit correctly......SO there was a change of flange width's and THUS my question is where "by and large" all the "late" 32's changed to the narrow flange fender w/ tall bracket/******** horns?? OR was the change in the fender because of the change in the horns in other words???

Now your car being of European origin - who knows? The French had different requirements as in Headlights and horns and gauges. In Germany ,all new to me.

Robert,

Yes regarding the narrowing of the flange on the left front fender.

As for a ******** horn on a Ford Werke semi-custom cabriolet with a August made-in-Dearborn engine/transmission, we know that U.S.-sourced horns weren't used, at least on some of their production, thanks to your research and that of Deuce Addict.

For those following and speaking to David's post #17 AND have an interest...here is supporting documentation of the Bosch FK6AS4 horn used by Ford Werks AG Germany. Ford of Germany ALSO used Hella as a horn source as evidence in photo 2,3 and 4 (original showroom photo/note hole in the horn screen) and was also distinguishable by a small open hole center of the the horn screen. ALSO note how the Hella bracket is sort of a combination of the two U S versions of brackets. Last pictures are of the correct Bosch AS6AS4 horn (solid horn screen) utilizing the ******** tall horn bracket of the US variety as the bracket for the bosch horn from picture #1 had gone walk about.....so the next "best" and closet fit was the tall US version bracket

So that's what they look like. I had to modify a short mount to be able to clear the fender and radiator when I restored the '32 AAB. Couldn't find an original.
