Tools/supplies needed while traveling

So, one thing to do is to always go on tours with Paul, and drive in front of him so that he can repair your car when it breaks.

THAT'S IT!! You are hereby banished to the kids table!! Hahhaaa!

However, sometimes it feels like that's what they do on purpose.

I don't use, or own a Tillotson. I am talking about other people. Back to my original point, which I believe has been lost on this tough crowd- I carry parts for OTHER PEOPLE's cars because it only takes one in a group tour that breaks down, and we all have to pull over and have a "roadside seminar". In the interest of time, I carry stuff so that I can get the other cars going again so we eventually reach our destination and don't have to scrap a trip.

This is a very tough crowd. Why so negative when someone wants to be extra prepared??

I don't think it's negative, just opinions. Just like the "what's your favorite oil", someone will always reply "non-detergent 30w, just like Henry required!". I don't carry carbs because I've never seen one replaced on the road and now with the variety of up and downdraft styles, it's a good chance someone doesn't have one to replace another. Distributors, coils, water pumps; I've seen those fail and it's easier to replace those and move along. That's just based on my roadside seminar experience, I find it more aggravating when people wait to sort their car out on a tour!

With all the stuff on the list, you might consider bringing a trail to carry it all. And as long as you are bringing a trailer, you may as well bring on big enough to fit your car. Or a whole running chassis like suggested in post #18.

Regarding A drivers back in the ‘30’s not carrying a lot of spare components, that was costly for the time and there were plenty of independent and Ford garages all over to get you on your way. Not to mention regularly servicing your car.

The irony of that is there are still plenty of "independents" (-fellow Model-A owners) wherever you travel that will have parts that will most likely get you going again.
