1936 Ford Roadster Info

Thanks for the enlargement. I have it up high on jack stands so I can do

a complete brake adjustment by the service manual and service every-

thing on the bottom. Everything looks like brand new, car hasn't been

driven 200 miles in over 40 years and has been stored in AC building

with humidistats. Only thing so far was a couple light bulbs and the

speedo changer for the Columbia rear which was never installed because

it has a radio and there is no room for stock changer. I have that figured

out. I repaired the AC in the building and was sitting there timing the run

time looking at the 36 from a distance and thought what a beautiful looking

car. Everything looks so fitting with the shapes all flowing together.

Top, long rear deck, doors rolling into the dash, shape of fenders running

boards, tires and spider hub caps. The only thing I would change is the

door mounted mirrors. They are to low and hard to see through. G.M..

You had mentioned that the stock speedo changer did not work for car because of the radio. I used the stock 36 changer with 46 - 48 vacuum diaphragms. I also had to use a 90 degree drive adapter as the dash is 1" closer to the firewall on roadsters than other models. This set up gave me some advantages. You can shift to overdrive and after the clutch is released you can put the selector back in standard drive. In this configuration the speedo reads correctly and the next time you are stopping the overdrive will automatically down shift and the speedo will always be reading correctly. The stock 36 setup will not do this. Attached are some pictures, hope this helps solve your clearance issues with the radio.

Hi, I came across this thread while searching info for Bambalina Blue. I am from Izmir, Turkey and I do own a 36 Roadster. I had bought it in 1998 in the US and imported it. It was last restored in the 70s and I now started restoring it. I always loved Bambalina Blue and it turned out my car originally was Bambalina Blue. Currently it is Cream/Beige. We lifted the body today.

Welcome Sir!
Best of fortune to you in your restoration efforts.

Stick around. There is more knowledge about old Fords here than you could ever imagine (including the previous two modest gentlemen).

I'm too shy.

Well, I ain't TOO shy! I knew where to look and I'm sitting here right now looking at a picture you posted some time back showing that little roadster standing all tall and proud on it's NOS springs and it's gorgeous, slightly oversized WW tires. A complete joy that make any heart beat just a little faster. DD

Shy or not, I believe Kube has been overruled by the peanut gallery. Kube's roadster is the raggedy blue one on the right in this picture. Mike's efforts to install two NOS springs and the addition of those beautiful, slightly-oversized WWWs elevates this honey right to the "top-shelf". I believe he just finished a Columbia installation on it this past week, also. Gorgeous car, Kube! DD
