Canadian frame number

My memory isn't so good these days but I think I recall reading here that Canadian cars had no Chassis number. I'm sure others will either confirm of correct this.

Well, it would IF anyone found docs that said how many units were produced when, but I haven't found or seen anything.

It would be nice if there were records for production/day at what factory.

I think it could give all of us the exact date the car rolled off the line.

That's the body number. The frame number should be stamped on the frame under the cowl and should agree with the motor number. I have never seen anything on dates for body numbers

I found T2229 in that same spot - Toronto assembly. The Engine number (May 1930) is the best clue I have to when that body came down the line, but who knows how far out that may be. With any luck you'll find some more Winnipeg assembly cars that may help

Good to know, be nice if we could get Canadian owners to submit their data and compile a rough database.

The Model A Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards have a new update with a huge Canadian car revision, finally acknowledging the correct body number locations.

Yes I have seen that article, do you know the date he posted? Sadly there is no correlation from number to mfg. dates.
No I don't. I am in FL right now but will be back home in Canada next week. I will look in my file on my car to see if I have any other info

Hi Darryl - our engine numbers are very close, I have CAT1918. Probably a few weeks apart. It would have been nice if the Toronto builds had the model type number stamp like Windsor did.

Hello Vern,
Great talking with you last night on the phone about these body plant numbers. I will check my logs like I promised last night and get back to you. I would also like to get the numbers from your 1929 Special Coupe.
Regards,
Dave
