This started as an engine stand, fixed position, no rotating. then I looked at it and said, "lets have it rotate", then I said why not make it to act as a test stand also, so this is the finished project.
Friends tell me "I have too much time on my hands", well now I'm really semi-retired, did retire 15 yrs ago with the idea of being semi-retired in a private business promoting a water valve repair system that I developed and went full time for its patent life (patents, what a joke that is, nothing more than a lawyer feeding frenzy).
Anyway 95% of the aluminum material was salvaged from material I recycled from tools I redesigned for the valve repair, think my finished stand has $75. for extra material (from off-cut metal shop) plus $150. for aluminum welding. Its adjustable length, width and height wise, has heavy duty casters and mounts are adjustable/removable for other engines. Has mount for rad with electric fan on it to avoid having belt driven fan. Stand will accept engine block with or without a transmission or transmission by it's self. Rad and dash panel are easily/quickly removed for assembly or dismantle of engine. Battery box holds 6 volt Optima battery in the Porsche battery box shell, looks like a standard battery. Complete unit can be broken down to 4 corners, 2 mounting points, 2 side tubes and 2 end tubes for storage when not in use.
Engine block is out for machining right now otherwise would be in stand, hope to have a video of running engine in a short time and post here.
