I'd like a good usable flat piece of original Henry steel to repair a 2.5" round heater hole in my 30 cowl. Sure, I could use any piece of steel but I'd really like original steel if possible. No need to cut it out of your car or good cowl but perhaps a scrap firewall could serve as a donor. :)

Hi Rich,
I have a couple of scrap 30 firewalls, but unfortunately they have the same area cut out. If you just want firewall steel for parching, you can have a chunk of one of these for cost of shipping.

Any source for a patch that is shaped properly to attach to the firewall with the 2 screws that were used to hold the little heater door/duct piece?

It would not be as slick as welding in a slug of the correct size and then grinding it all down, but faster.
