Axle Dope

I noticed that also different authers different everything in as to the amounts that the Model A's took so who is right who knows.

Now that's pretty funny I just wish that these people that write these book actully do some research on the stuff before that they are writting about sometimes it seems that they don't know there *** from a hole in the ground or are getting wrong infomation from someone or some where plus it all depends on if your Model A is on the right hill or not when you are filling the rear axle as to how much go's in there.

Say I don't know if any of this stuff is misprints or not it might be correct all of them might be correct in a way but I just had a thought on this I know there's a dipstick thing you can get or buy for the ****** I just wonder of there is any place you can buy one for the rear ends also.
So you would know as to how much to put in someone wrote on here not to far back about his Dad and his helper checking a Lady's rear end ever time she came in after reading that got me thinking if there was a place that makes a dipstick for the rear ends or if it would be even possible to have or put one into the rear ends.
I know it would have to go in the top plug in the rear end so it would be able to check the bottom plugs level now does anyone know if someone even makes something like that it would be the samething as the transmission dipstick would be but for the rear end instead.
If not I think I will make one and see if it would even work in the rear end it wouldn't be that hard to make one but the problem would be to get it to be right level every time you check the levels of it now that would be hard to do since that stuff is so thick.
And it would all depend on if the car is level also and if the liquid is hot or not to check I think it would have to be hot when checked or you wouldn't get a good reading I would think maybe not don't know on that one but that would be easy to find out that one also.
But does anyone make something like that or do I have to make my own making the stick wouldn't be that hard to make plus it would or could be on the same plug as is in there now it would just have a dipstick on the other side of it.

all this fun :: i always fill on a level surface till it trickles out the fill hole.. i never actually measured what went in

Maybe the mis-prints helps the suppliers sell MORE OIL------??
My poor NIEVE Mamma thought that ANYTHING in print, was ABSOLUTELY TRUE!
Chief taught me to believe 90% of what I see & 10% of what I hear!
I asked Cindy, "IF A TREE FELL IN THE FOREST/WOODS, & NOBODY WUZ THERE, WOULD IT BE MY FAULT"?--It took 5 minutes on "hold", while she went "somewhere"????----The Dog thought we had dropped the call?

X2

No dipstick needed, just remove the top plug and fill until it starts to trickle out. I would never let it get lower than 1/2" below the bottom of the fill plug hole.

Someone here once wrote, I've just removed the drain plug & let it drip awhile, HOW do I get the oil back in that hole"? The Dog:cool: replied, "You gotta' be QUICK"!:D:D

One quart or ten quarts...does not matter, bottom of the drain hole, that's all you need to remember.

then youll be empty:eek::D

Opps...You got me, my error.
I should have stated the "fill hole"
Wife says I had the same problem on our honeymoon
