Don, most of the vendors carry them. I've also seen them on epay.

I did the conversion on my 29 recently. I removed the tank entirely for a couple reasons. To remove the original bracket completely by grinding the rivets flush to the tank, and welding what remained to close the holes. Then I had the inside cleaned and coated by a local radiator shop. Repainted the tank, re-installed and replaced the bracket with the later style of course. For the Cabriolet, no adapter or spacer was needed. I just needed to drill a couple holes to line up with the new bracket.

Use your lower clamp.
I used my old column bracket to mount my water temperature gauge to.![]()
I've also got a tank with a slow leak on the side. Looking at the photos of a tank cut open it looks like there are small pockets on the lower sides of the tanks and these trap rust? Might be better to soak the tank in rust remover than use a radiator shop? Then use a tank sealer.
That is exactly what I did on the huckster. I found the radiator shop, or at least the one I used, did not do the job I needed. So I cleaned it out as best I could and then put in the sealer. So far after 5 to 6 years, things are doing OK even using crap gas most of the time..
BTW, have a understanding wife working in her kitchen.
OMG! And she let you use her vintage Filter-Queen too?!!
She's a keeper, for sure.
Thanks for the pictures. I showed the misses in preparation ...
