Zenith Carb Questions.

I have a 3 year old Zenith-1. Would like to find conscientious on several discrepancies.

What is more important?

1.The float being level with the inverted top cover & 1" from float seam to inverted top cover...
or fuel level of 5/8" below top cover seam when carb. is fully assembled?

Either the standard needle/seat or the Viton tip needle/seat will give a fuel level of 7/8" with one needle/seat shim and 3/4" fuel level with no shim.

2. Should main jet & cap jet assembled in the carb. be the same height or cap jet slightly lower? (This puts the cap jet about 1/8' below the narrowest part of the venturi.)

3. Should the main & cap jet be 'dished' at the top or flat?

4. Why is it recommended the small snap ring be removed from the CAV adjustment needle housing?

3. the concave top helps the gas to stay in the tube, rather than wick over.

4. I use an original choke rod and never remove the snap ring.
Some people remove the snap ring so the repro choke rod turns easier and won't unscrew the handle.

The snap ring is on the end of the GAV in the carb
