Zenith 2 bowl question

Recently I have taken apart two Zenith 2 carburators and on the inside of the bowl in raised letters is the word HOLLEY 7 on one of the bottom bowls and on the other the word HOLLEY 10. Does any one know why or what the reason was, cause when they are put together the raised letters cannot be seen.

Model A carburetors were made by both the Zenith and the Holley companies. Starting in Jan 1929, Ford designated Zenith carbs as "Zenith 1" and Holleys as "Zenith 2". Zenith tops have a "Z" and Holley tops are plain. I have seen Zenith 2's with and without the inside stamp and with a variety of numbers. I suspect, but don't know, that Holley marked them for some sort of internal control reason.
Steve Schmauch is the best Model A carburetor historian I know and he can probably tell you why Holley continued to mark the inside of their bowls when they were also marked as Zenith 2 on the outside.
