Today was a good day. 4 new tires on the ground, rebuilt carb, adjusted a very-outta-adjustment dustributor, belt and hoses. She runs GOOD!!!

Interesting thing is I don't have a lot of vibration on deacceleration. What does that mean?? My RPU has all the typical vibrations. This engine doesn't seem to, at driving speed, or deacceleration. I wasn't able to take it above 40 since I still need to do all the lubricants, but I couldn't stand not to take it about a mile down our country road.

Also curious how to tell a HC head. I have no markings that I can see, but I read something that indicated different plug gaps for different heads and I just want to be sure.

I'll post some pics soon if anyone is interested.

Thanks guys for answers that I know have probably been posted 100 times. Mainly I just had to post because i'm THRILLED!:):):)

Congratulations on getting another "A" on the road. I'm interested in seeing some pictures. Sounds like you have a well balanced engine. Don/WI

ahahaha, not on Ford barn! Just model A love, and yes, I agree.

That may change tomorrow when I get Phaeton pics. She's all clean now. I'm happily married and just non-monogamus with my cars.

Oh Tomis I love your avatar (NOT) Go get some grease and smear your face and put a sledge in your hands. Ha, ha buddy , Calli will die when I show her sonny30coupe's post.
Glad you got the Phaeton going . Want to see pic's and be over soon for a ride.

Ahahaha...Oh wow. Look what you started Sonny30coupe. You do NOT know the wrath of the one they call Calli....

Na man, this is my thinkin picture.

If you want a 'lovin' picture, I'll have to get my shades...some gel...a rose and some kinda lepard skin rug thing. Should work on just about any chick with bad eyes. Worked on my wonderful wife, but then again, without her contacts, she can't see a thing!

So, Back on track now....shezzz. Here are a couple of pics of my project. Lots of work yet to be done, but she is a pretty nice late 70's, early 80's resto.

Great looking phaeton, I don't care for the wheels and tires, myself, but it does look good. Have been waiting for pics since you posted you bought it. I'm sure it'll turn a lot of heads for you. A's others have stated, sounds like you have a well balance engine. Enjoy, I bet you have a big smile on your face.....

On the smooth engine, are you running original motor mounts? I ask, cause my roadster had float a motors on it and had a fair amount of vibration. I switched to original mounts and now it's smooth as silk. Just wondering....

Thanks Guys. Steve, yes it is running stock mounts. So is my RPU and this is a LOT smoother however. Makes me wonder if I may have a problem with the RPU. So as for the wheels and tires, yes. I think I agree with you and will probably go black on black someday. For now, I was out-voted by my 2 and a half year old daughter who wanted me to keep it this way. :)
