Y block head replacement

I found a set of ECZ-G heads for my Y block and plan on installing them in a few days. The question is, when I built the motor last year the directions that came with the head gaskets said to drill holes in the block that line up with the 1/4" or so holes in the gasket. these holes are above and below center line between the center two cylinders. The heads that are on the motor now had the holes in them just the block did not.
The new heads do not have these holes, should I drill them?

Absolutely! These extra holes are so easy to do, and they help so much. Just position the new head gaskets on the dowels and center punch those two holes, drill a small hole, then enlarge it. The new gaskets are marked "Front". One may be upside down. It wont care so long as its front. One thing to look out for. If someone is in a hurry, it appears to have two lengths head bolts. Long and short. Line up all the long ones, two are longer than the other three. The longest go on the ends.
