Is anyone familiar with this product? I think it's available at Sam's Club and was wondering where else it might be in stock. Thanks in advance for any info.

I'd be curious as to what makes it worth questioning about other than a person needs break in oil. Non-detergent types are available from several different manufacturers but a person really needs a detergent oil for normal engine operation after the break in period.

There is everything from relatively freshly refined oil stocks blended with additives & polymers to reconstituted oil that is filtered re-refined, with additives but I'd question anything that is re-refined. It's hard to separate mineral oils from synthetics once they are mixed. Xcel makes mostly synthetic and synthetic blend oils and in their turbo line, they don't say whether it's synthetic, blend, or all mineral. That makes me wary of what it actually is. When you buy cheap, you sometimes get what you pay for.

Just why would anyone want to run 29/50 oil in their engine?? The only reason I can think of is: It's old and knocking, and needs to be rebuilt.

Do the non-detergent "old type oils" need to meet any standards that modern oils are required to meet? I realize that oils today are far superior to even the oils from 20 years ago but wonder if the non- detergents are no better than they were 50 or 75 years ago.

Of all the 'components' one can purchase for an engine, oil has to be one of the cheapest. True it must be replaced more frequently, but doing so can prevent the need to replace other, more costly components.

Go with best. You could be shocked to find what goes into bargain oil deals. I speak as one who worked, years ago, for a wheeler and a dealer. I could not believe the lack of manufacturing control and consistency (you never knew what would come out of the can) just to be a market price leader.

Personally, I am not happy with less than MOBIL ONE. Period.

Thanks to all who Chimed in. I found a Petroleum Quality
Institute of America reference to this product online that says the information on their label is wrong and the stuff be avoided. I was curious about it because I didn't think there were any multi-viscosity non-detergent motor oils out there. Looks like we're all correct!!
