wtb 1947 ford 2dr coupe headliner retainer strips

Mine were in poor condition but I was able to repair them. I cut the rusted section out. I cut 18 gauge metal to the correct length and width then cut teeth into the metal using a 4 1/2 in grinder and thin metal cutting blade. Then the new piece was mig welded to the remaining original piece. It was a crude fix but it worked. I do not know of any new ones being sold.

laryh has the right idea. One of the retainers on my 40 Ford had a rusted section and the teeth were rusted off. I took some 18 ga metal and made a pattern. I laid out the teeth on 1/2 inch centers and cut them with a pair of aviation shears. The flat spots between the teeth were removed by using a pair of pliers and bending the metal back and forth until it broke off..The area was cleaned up with a file. Once the teeth were completed the piece was bent to shape on a brake and then welded to the good portion. I was afraid this was going to be a difficult job, but it was easy and came out well.
