Wrong epay descriptions

When I call I wait until 9:45 pm(they stop taking calls at 10PM PST) and usually get someone at their location in CA.

Ebay has made it quite easy to contact them by phone and you will get a real person to help you. I needed some help with a problem several weeks ago and when I called I was helped by a very friendly and knowlegable person who was'nt in a rush to get rid of me. She was in Ca. not India or some other far off land. Ebay also contacted me several days later for feedback on their service.

I have been reporting to Ebay also I hope everyone can get on the bandwagon and get these guys off the vintage category. I also have been spamming the sellers under the "ask a question" how the hubcaps will fit my T,I would like a detailed explanation. will they supply tie wire or??? geesh

David G, I searched "1931 Lincoln" just as written above including the parentheses in ebay motors and got 8 hits. No seat covers or halogen headlights were included. It boils down to how you type in your search criteria. you guys should try it!

Thanks for the tip Jim, next time I use Ebay I'll do as you suggested. That practice has been getting a pain in the ***.

Agreed on the mess bit but on a happier note the trying different searches to get past the fluff I found an NOS LR 33-34 coupe fender {gennie ford} for $250.00 buy-it-now & a 3 bottom John Deere 825 rollover plow for $200.00 buy-it-now . Both items arguably worth twice what was paid . Iffin y'all think it's bad with ford or 31 lincoln stuff try John Deere stuff . BIG MESS but again I think it actually helps if you're willing to dig a bit . JMHO

J Franklin,

I sincerely appreciate your advice, but things of possible interest aren't always listed under eBay Motors, hence I search all categories. The eBay Motors category has its own flaws as well. For example, if you type in "1933 Ford", you'll get back a seemingly endless list of K/N air cleaners for everything but a '33 Ford by virtue of the fact that the K/N part numbers use a "33" prefix.

The advanced search exclusions suggested earlier in this thread have done wonders in cutting out the chaff. Notwithstanding, I hope that eBay responds to the complaints and drops the hammer on a couple of system abusers.

Not one of those 14", 15", and 16" wheel covers will fit an 18" '32 Ford wheel or a 19" '31 Lincoln wheel despite the stated claim in their listings.

Dave

I searched "1933 Ford" in all categories and my search came back with 800+ items and no 14" wheels or K-N filters so I must be lucky. I'll keep doing it my way. I think Ebay will be gone or just a store adjunct in a few years.

Please re-read my note, namely the second and third sentences. It was in eBay Motors that the filters show up, not in "all categories" which is what I use to avoid the air filter listings, etc.

The parantheses do help, however.

If you try selling you will see whats going on.All parts should be under vintage parts. But if you can get all sellers to put FORD BARN in title, the parts will be found.
