World's smallest car show

There is an old Vaudeville joke that goes like this:

"I come from a place so small we don't even have a town drunk. We all have to take turns."

Well...

I live in a town too small to mount a car show, so I just did one myself. Actually, I piggybacked on "the area's largest yard sale." For $10 I rented a space and moved the car in early.

Some observations:

Having the engine visible attracts many more people than when closed up.

Some cars may be babe magnets. Mine is a geezer magnet.

Old cars can bridge generation gaps.

Almost everyone treats antique cars with respect and even awe.

A little gentle humor never hurts. I posted a sign on my car which stated in a very large red typeface: $500.
In very small type it read: (Original price in 1930).

Mr. Pdora:

Great story, great pictures, good for you.

You might want to change that upper radiator hose before you venture out on a long distance tour.

The upper radiator hose is fine. That's a shadow in the photo. Let's hope my mechanical skills surpass my photographic abilities.

Nice car. Good for you for sharing it. I agree with all your observations. Old cars bring out the best in people. Well, most people.

As a result of the "car show" my car is now well-known in the community, and two local merchants have invited me to park it outside their businesses from time to time. I will be happy to do this, as I am already supportive of both -- a sandwich shop and a picture framing shop.

This might just turn into a permanent one-car show -- good will all around.

Ham equipment is boxed up in basement. I hope to install a multi-band HF rig in the Model A once I complete 12-volt conversion.
