Wood grain painter

ahh!Well Honest Charley's Shop had a USPS shipment of done '32 3w mouldings STOLEN [disappeared] during return mailing. Belonged to the President of RG 85 !! The 'Speed shop labels were a dead giveaway. Newc

I had mine done locally here in the Chicago area, at least 30% less expensive than H.C. He did my dash and garnish mouldings for my 33 Tudor.

I would call some of the V-8 parts vendors in California and ask if they know of anyone in their area that does woodgraining. Check the V-8 club website in the "links" menu and vendors will pop up. There are several California vendors that may be able to help you find one. www.earlyfordv8.org

Looks like you got what you paid for, a wood grain bearing no resemblance to the original '33 pattern, which wasn't even available for a standard dash such as the one in your photo.

Sorry you don’t like it David. I think it matched pretty good to an original 33 picture I saw. I feel very fortunate to find an unmolested 33 among all the chopped SBC old Fords. Someone already added Deluxe additions to it. I like to keep my cars stock and don’t think it’s so bad adding DeLuxe features to a Standard model.

Dang. I was In Honest Charlie shop two years ago and wanted some 40 deluxe mouldings wood grained. The lady there said the person that I needed to talk to wasn’t there but took my number and would have him to call me. I’m still waiting.

If you have to mail the moldings I suggest mailing to Honest Charlie in Tenn.

Terry,
I am with you on this 100%. Jonathan, at Honest Charley's does great work and is prompt, delivering as promised each time.
He has done numerous '39 and '40 sets for me as well as the dash in my '36 roadster. And oh yeah, the set for a '38 Buick.
Jonathan told me the Buick was perhaps the most difficult he'd ever done but also the most rewarding.
I'd always shipped my stuff in wooden crates that I had made. They came back to me in the same crates.

Ken, my guess is the message never got to Jonathan. He has always been good at responding to me.
He and I worked closely together to get the proper graining patterns / colors for the '40 models.
