Wood bod mounting blocks....

A few years ago, I bought a '29 roadster body from Brookville for a project started ages ago. I have a question about how the body blocks go in. It came with an assortment of blocks that mount between the frame and body. I'm working with the next to rearmost. The drawing shows it with a slight relief facing up. If it's installed that way, drawing up a bolt will **** the piece. Perhaps it should be flipped over so the flat side will be nest nicely in place??

Mike's has a little better instruction set since the blocks are sometimes for multiple body types. Here is a link.

The open cars bodies needed more support since they tend to be kind of flimsy until all the elements of the body are fully assembled. The blocks sort of fit up into the body sills and and the cross braces where applicable. I hope this helps.

Thanks! That's what I need. Are they rubber pads that go under the blocks and on top of the welting?

Hello, the rubber pads will fit on the bottom,on top of the splash apron or between block and frame welt . The rubber pads are also used to shim the body to adjust door openings. The is on Ford Barn a good post on how this is done.

Hello again, frame welt will only extend to end of splash aprons , the rear most blocks have just the rubber pads in between wood and frame, also usallly blocke will have a slight recess where pad fits.
