Wonderful unauthorized gear shift protector

Hello scrap metal drivers,

I would like to recreate this gear switch "tower" from approximately 1/20" sheet metal. I like it because it's so quirky; it's also easy to attach a reverse gear lock.

Does anyone have a blueprint, dimensions, or detailed drawings/photos?

Dankeschön!

That sure looks like something that would have been in a JC Whitney catalogue! Stuff that you didn't know you needed.

Something for the student driver or do I dare say the wife.....
I wonder if this item led to the simple solution of printing the shift pattern on the knob?

I have those on a JD 1010 dozer,a JD 40 crawler,an HD 11 Allis dozer, and on a JD H and a JD B tractor. The B is a six speed and needs that separation. But,all those levers are straight, except for the B and H tractors. Those are straight until the lever clears the gate, then they bend back.My 1010 dozer has the gate on the dash, not on top of the trans.

Here is another one that needs the selector.

Full page in "Those Wonderful Unauthorizes Accessories for Model A Ford". This book is real fun to read. Contains some interesting accessories of the era.
