Never mind what they are saying. Look at the gas station attendant, I guess thats what they called them.

Bow tie, white hat, white outfit. A man proud to be around automobiles.

Might be a salesman, the window might be to see the carbs, The head looks different, too. It's squarer and the water outlet is elevated

I ck'd out the pix day before. I do like these vintage pix... bit like a time machine! I missed most of the details mentioned. :D The guy on the right sure looks like an 'A' running buddie of mine, passed and always wore cap like that. The attendant looks to me as if he just might be kin, his brother? to the guy wearing the cap? First thot came to mind was if the guy with British driving cap was asking the suited man if he thot a broken radiator fan blade might go thru the side hood window and break it? :p

Pure speculation though, however I like the suggestion the hood side panel window is to show off the engine and the carbs? Wish i knew if the other side had one, too! I see vertical lines so maybe not...

Simple to figure it out. They are having the age old Hot Rod discussion. With the performance upgrades they're talking about how it will pass anything but a gas station.....

Dual carb, custom hood, later model wheels. Check those "cowl" lights. A real Hot Rod in the day.

Those cowl lights are "NACLITE The DeLuxe Light of Motordom" made by the
National Accessories Corp. of LA, California. They were a pretty unique spot light system. All control was done by a knob/light switch located on the car's dash panel.

The hood window is on the pass only, as the driver side still has louvers. I am thinking the suit is a salesman as the tires are almost bald.

Lot of interesting stuff. That Union 76 gas pump for another thing. Put a window in your hood side panel you gotta know you have something special.

I always wondered if the big benefit of a dual carb setup is more powerful acceleration, or top-end.

Pete from Pete's Speed Shop facebook page here in OZ makes them in his spare time.
Tip it upside down and use two Holden carbs. His bronze intakes are something else.

I've never heard of Pete's Speed Shop but I like the idea of about two Holden carbs. I have run a single 1 1/32" grey motor Stromberg for years. That is about the same size as the first barrel on a Webber. I have also run a 1 3/32" carb from a 149 engine. It is better and still idles very well.
A pattern maker friend of mine is likely the one who made the pattern for those bronze manifolds. He has done patterns for Stromberg 97 carbs on a Model A engine and lots of others. There is a WIDE range of choices.
