Wiring

I need to find a competent shop to do wiring on my 1952 ford Crestline Victoria in San Diego co.CA. Does anyone have any recommendations. Any help would be appreciated. Jerry

Biggest problem is the rear lights harness is behind the left fender, along the cowl. Newc

Bauer Electronics sells to a lot of the reproduction parts suppliers. They tend to sell the wiring in separate segments such as engine compartment, dash board, rear end lighting, and the different accessory wiring for stuff like the heater, reversing lights, and electric overdrive since all cars may or may not have the same equipment. The hardest thing I've worked on in that respect is rewiring the steering column for horn, turn signals, and brake lights. Some of the reproduction wiring is a tight fit in there. The 1952 models are getting closer to the era of plastic insulation on the wiring. 1951 was still cloth covered but Ford started changing over in the mid 50s. I just don't know exactly when.

i get the sense that the OP is not so much interested in securing the hardware as expertise in installing it. ...i may be wrong, as always. :)

i'm basing my guess on the first sentence of the thread that reads, "I need to find a competent shop to do the wiring...". i've often been in need of installation expertise and that's how i would go about starting my thread, i think. again, just a guess... :)

Rewiring can get into a good bit of time on the early 50s cars. I had to remove the dash to do it. I removed the steering box an column to do that. Some of the interior may need to be removed in some fashion to get to rear light harness or the dome lamp wiring. I had to make a tool to get the bullet connector out of the terminal blocks.

Any good mechanic could do it but there are few shops that specialize in this other than restoration shops. The price could get prohibitive. I do it myself to save all the hard earned bucks. If a person can afford to hire it done then look for a good trustworthy mechanic or a restoration shop with a good reputation. Southern Cali should have at least a few shops that could do it.

Cambra Speed Shop in Orange, Ca. (I know not San Diego)
https://cambraspeedshop.com/

Owner is Ron Cambra, easy to work with.

They do restoration work besides the resto mod. You do not mention if you want the stock wiring or upgrading to a 12V system with a modern fuse panel.
