Wiring heat shield?

I have a new Wiring loom from the light switch on my 35 Pu, and am concerned about it being so close to the exhaust 1/4" can't pull it away and believe I have it tucked as it should be. Have seen exhaust pipes glow in the night but not on this. Thoughts?

Wrap the exhaust with heat shield, stuffs not cheap but it works well. Just have to do the spot that would radiate at the wire plus couple inches each way.

Check to be sure it's installed correctly. Maybe someone with a 35 model can post a picture. Unless you've got some strange headers or pipes, there should be ample clearance for the wire harness

Strange headers maybe thats what I need!
Here is a picture if i have it wrong let me know, 35 Pu 59A-B
I like the wrap Idea; thanks Frank

I know it is close on '35-'36s but boy is that close! You haven't changed the steering drop, have you?

To get more room on my '35 I installed a '37-'40 left-hand exhaust manifold. Everything bolts together slick. The only change needed was to bend the end of the crossover pipe to match the existing stock right-hand header pipe. Besides a better scavenger design it makes installing a crossover pipe a lot easier than the original pipe.

The following are two pictures. The first is a "before" and the second is the "after" with the '37-'40 pipe.
