In the above photo the wiring harness coming out of the firewall
has a metal bracket around the rubber grommet that protects the wiring coming thru the wall, does anyone know what year or what that metal round wiring grommet cover came off of or does any one have one and the screws that go with it? I could sure use one..

Thanks,
Pete

I know that the car this is on is a 46 Ford and I have a 47 but I have never seen that wire bracket on any other of those yrs 46 thru 48, that's why I ask what year used it and does anyone have one. My firewall insulation under the dash inside the car is the rigid cardboard or what ever material that was used is broken away badly therefore will not hold rubber grommet in place up against firewall, and this bracket with screw will solve the problem.

thanks again,
Pete

Pete-

These are very common. I just got the bracket and rubber grommet from Mac's about two weeks ago. I know they are found on ''49-'51 Fords, I believe other years also use it.

Hope this helps.

Thank you too all that responded, 19Fordy was a big help. I was able to see that on 49-51 Ford and Merc used this type of retainer and picked up one on Saturday from my local Vintage Ford parts store.
