Wiring harness Issues

I got a new hardness and housing since I didn't have it all got it all put in. The problem I am having is the wiring bail seems pretty loose inside the housing. If I move the wiring next to the housing I can turn on my lights or off. how do I get the hardness to be tight inside the housing?

there is a notch in the end plate that fits a spline in the housing to hold the plate correctly. Also the forks should be aligned at 6oclock and 12 oclock.
Also, the reproduction housing may be a poor fit. The notch in the light switch bracket Snyders' part number #A3569 is on the street side(down) on the steering box housing.

Are you saying that the bail wire doesn't hold the switch assembly tight to the end of the steering wheel? If so then just bend the wire to make it shorter.

humor me and check to see if the spider is engaging the internal part of the housing correctly, Its hard to see from here. It has to fit correctly in the internal brass switch with the 3 brass buttons.
If the internals are loose something is not installed correctly.
I have also tested the assembly by putting the housing together with the harness, off the column, to see that I have a good tight assembly. I used a screwdriver to turn the spider, I think.
I am trying to help you.

the internal brass switch with the 3 brass buttons is firmly attached to the to the upper cover. It has a spring and is rotated by the spider.

The wiring harness end is notched for alignment and is help in place by the force of the brass part.

Do you have pictures of yours?

I will get pictures today. I messed with it again last night and now my drivers light comes in very dim used to be bright 😒
