Wiring a 32 Ford v8

I picked up this headlight /taillight harness for my 32 v8 roadster .
It came with a diagram . I’m trying to install a pair of 682-J headlights and a pair of 1937 ford taillights in the rear . Current wiring is in VERY poor shape.I’ve never wired any of my vehicles so I just figured I’d ask those of you with WAY more experience than me if there’s a best place to start , or an order of which to hook everything up etc
Look forward to your replies.

The headlights used or the tail lights shouldn't make much difference. Are you using the floor push starter? I would start by drawing out a diagram so you have a good idea what goes where and why. Assume you already have the wiring diagrams, but just in case. I would start the wiring at the light control switch at the base of the steering column. Grounds are very important, be sure all of the ground locations are clean, bare metal and apply a small amount of grease to the bare metal before and after making the connections.

Thanks Jseery , I forgot to mention that my roadster has the original foot switch starter , and that the original switch is worn out. If I turn the light switch to any of the on positions , once I turn the steering wheel the switch returns to the 6 o clock starting position

When the light switch keeps not holding it’s position and returns to 6 o’clock once the wheel is turned, what is the specific part causing the failure??
Maybe a picture of it , to make sure I have the right parts to fix the issue .

With respect, while an original type '32 lighting harness's connections are compatible with the '37 tail lamps, it is unlikely that they are compatible with non-original headlamps and that some adaption will be required.

With the BLC headlamps, at least you won't have to worry about the headlamp connector plug assembly for the 32 types but they should still be connected and some form of connector, ie bullet connector plugs or other appropriate type. It would be wise so that your head lamps will be easily removable for radiator or engine repairs. Tail lights can be hard wired. I assume this going to be fenderless. Those 37 tail lamps don't attach the same way as OEM but they could be used with fenders with mods.

I was assuming a bullet connector was a bullet connector regardless of what is connected beyond them.

As a general rule when the switch does not hold it's position it means the rod from the horn button to the switch is bent. Not an easy fix to straighten the rod. If your car is not stock maybe you should just buy a small generic fuse panel and a few rolls of different colored wire and wire it yourself. Most if not all of these panels come with good instructions. You can get a decent panel for $60-$80 and the individual circuits will be fused. .
