I'm a Model A guy, neve got to spend much time under a Flathead hood. I picked up two wire looms one in know is NOS, has a Ford tag on it the other may be a repo. Did all the V8's use the bottom of steering column headlight contact disk? The NOS loom had an oval rubber gromet that would go through the firewall, tag is marked 39 TR.

My 39 standard has the light switch in the center of the steering wheel. The switch turns on the park lights and headlights depending which way you turn the switch. This is like a Model "A". The bright and dim switch is on the floor. The dash lights are turned on with a toggle switch under the dash. The horn button is in the center of the steering wheel.

The brights have a little indicator light on the left hand side of the dash.

I like the Model "T" light switch better. All of that wiring at the bottom of the steering column can be a pain.

The more things change the more they stay the same. I have heard that light switches, wiper switches, dimmer switches, turn signals and speed controls are all on the steering columns now. I would hate to have to work on them. Probably metric threads with fractional heads or some other goofy combination like torque heads and sheeatmeatal screw threads.

German Engineering and European styling are not the most desirable combination. Stay away from GM. This will be government design with German engineering and European styling.
