Anyone want to borrow an engine for Bonniville next year ??I know the 4 v 4 boys need a RELIABLE engine ???? So you going to reveal who you are, ??i might need a contact for advise, Derek, on a humid day. in NZ

What about when you rev the motor up in neutral? Does it vibrate when you get to the same rpms as it does when you drive it?

When you mentioned the crank was bent and you had it corrected did you repeat the flywheel wobble check again? Bending the crank back to straight could cause the flywheel mounting flange to not be perpendicular with the crank axis.

Milton. We have replaced the bent crank after straighening it & balancing it with a new counter balaced one then rebalanced it all. Grape juice ( nice nic name) will give some revs staionary once back in frame, Origanal question was had anyone had problems with repo alloy winfield head apart from being pourous ?? Nearly finished re assembling after latest balancing job. only tore it down looking for problems & to give myself some piece of mind that what i had been charged for was actually done, plus to check new counter weights were not touching windage tray under load as that was a posiblity. 70* 50%humidity. not normal Nelson weather,

Good luck be on you, I sort of went through the quickchange stuff myself. In fact just finished repairs to the last (#4) change today.

Dang, Quickchange, we get upset when it hit $2.75 per gallon last week here last week. You are talking almost $7.50 per gallon there. WOW

...if only

Here in UK it is now £1.20 a litre so that's $7.93 a (uk) gallon. Bad news.

Good news is that I've just bought a Kiwi quickchange for the Coupe, and it is a thing of beauty.
