Has anyone tried putting windwings on a pickup. I'm looking at the aftermarket hardware for windwings and I'm not sure what I need to purchase to get this done. Any help on correct PN's would be greatly appreciated.
Actually, I have the bracketry for my 31 - no idea the part numbers. I have seen several CCPUs with wind wings and, well I think they look fine and the drivers tell me they are a big help.
I have a '29 CCPU and I put the wings on long ago. Look at the brackets for a sedan and get the glass. See where you would drill the holes for the bottom bracket and fit the top bracket to see where they would go. The only problem is the wings always move when the door is opened.
The wind wings on our 1929 model A Tudor would be the same installation type as used on the CCPU. The windwings greatly improved the protection from incoming wind. Our windwings do not move on the door when the doors are moved as their hinged mounting brackets are screwed to the doors and our hinges are plenty tight enough to stay put. I like their looks too. The wind wing hardware comes with Phillips headed screws. Change the Phillips out for slotted headed screws if possible. We have had our Tudor's mirrors in place for 45 years now.
