Windshield wiper length?

31 Model A

While watching Road to Perdition, I noticed that Michael Sullivan's sedan had a longer wiper, why was this? I think his sedan was an early 31.

That's not a Ford but a Buick....maybe that's why.

Even though the movie was filmed in Illinois, the story took place in Illinois also, anyone noticed how many cars in the movie did not have front license plates?

Hard getting a close up in that movie. I was a bit confused until I seen no gas cap on top of the cowl, got a closer look at the grill and then I saw the light!!!

The producers must have called in every late 20s and early 1930s auto in the northern Illinois and then some, especially for the Chicago scene. That diner would be the place to drive to if it was still in Illinois.

In the book the car is a Ford, but as stated earlier, the movie car is a Buick. Would have been difficult for the boy to hide under the rear seat in a true Model A Ford! There were numerous Model A's from the Chicago area in the film. Generally the cars 'parked' were movie cars and those driving were done so by their owners.
