Windshield Washer

The accessory catalog for the '49 ford truck shows a windshield washer. Has anyone seen one of these installed? I was wondering what the spray nozzles looked like and where they are mounted.
Thanks, Mark

The washers were first available for the 1947 Ford products as a dealer installed option. The nozzles were mounted on the top of the cowl next to the wiper base. Exact location varied with dealership. There was a button under the dash near the steering column (again location could vary). Pressing the button allowed engine vacuum to suck up washer fluid and at the same time compress a spring, that when released pushed the fluid through rubber tubes to the nozzles. It was just a one shot blast of fluid and the button needed to be pressed again.

Thanks Bill. I did find a NOS washer kit for the '49 truck on ebay. I was able to tell by the photos what the nozzle looks like and where it was mounted.
Thanks again, Mark
