Windshield Vent

I discovered something today that I'm sure everybody else already knew. It was hot for my afternoon jaunt with Prunella so I decided to swing the windshield open for the first time. I noticed the notch on the operating arms and wondered why it was set where the window was just barely open. I decided to drop the levers into the notch just to see if that would provide any air flow and, much to my surprise, I found a very nice air flow coming out below the dash cowling! What a great idea - as I'm fairly certain that you could probably leave the windshield open like this even in a rainstorm. Maybe a few drops would get in - but it wouldn't be like getting hit in the face with a shower. There's probably something about this in the Owner's manual but, if so, I missed it.

During one "cool" spring day, I noticed that one of our guys had his windshield open to the first notch. It being cool, I inquired why, then noticed that he had his hood propped open a crack at the rear with a small block of wood, maybe even a pencil (can't remember exactly). He then explained that with the hood propped open, windshield open, he got lots of warm air vented into the cabin.

Maybe this belongs in Bill's "Tips" thread??
