Hi

The God damn knob wont budge. I`ve loosened the small screw that holds it in place but it wont come off. Is it threaded or bolted on? Thanks / Niklas

It is a splined shaft. The knob is just stuck for some reason.
Maybe tap on the side lightly to see if it will loosen up?

maybe a bit different ,but my 33 was stuck and it was due the rubber around the screen welded to the body. Ended up with a crack in the screen when I forced it open.

place something on your dash to protect it an pry up with a screwdriver. make sure set screw is out.

Your title says the regulator is stuck, while your post says the knob won't budge. Are you trying to remove the knob, or crank the windshield open.

My 1939 Pidkup did that when I tore it down. The problem was that the sheet metal around the knob was catching the bottom of the shaft of the knob. worked a small screw driver around the bottom and pried the sheet metal away from the knob and it came off.

Of course it won't budge, it's cursed... If the set screw is removed pry it as suggested...Chap

While I'm in complete understanding of the protests against it ( I use it freely around the house, I'm not allowed near paint [ too clumsy ] Used it for priming diesels ) I have to say I would not want to bust it until I left WD-40 time to soak in and soften decades of crud into goo.

I also am often sleepless at four:(

Both actually. The regulator I will fix, no problem. Its the knob that wont come of. Tried everything, thinking of using the dremel:)

First of all. Thank you for all the quick replys. Very thankful for that! Still the knob is stuck, but I will solve it, somehow. I think its glued on, and whats left is to dremel the shaft and buy new parts. But will try again to soak it and pry it. Again, thank you for all the help and sorry for the topic missleading, english is not my first language. Im a motorcycle builder from Sweden, trying out the old car world:)

Wrap up the dash around the knob and try a little heat on it. If it is glued on the heat will melt the glue. Might take 2 or 3 times heating it up and let it cool off
