Windshield gasket?

I'm going to take my frame to my local glass man and have a windshield installed, I bought the gasket from a supplier that says coat it with oil, do you also cut the gasket on a 45 in the corners or a 90? or is it cut at all? Just looking for some directions to pass on if he don't know. Thanks for any help on this.

try A & L parts supply---they have the orig trype material to install that glass and it will work much nicer for you...you can find there phone nr in the vendor section of the barn or some one will give it to you....that is just the material to set the glass not the rubber seal....

You should not use ordinary oil on the rubber seals. When the seals are installed, you should leave the ends long, for shrinkage over two or three days, then cur the corners for a good fit.

Glenn are you talking about the rubber that goes in the channel with the glass? or the outside rubber seals that seal the frame to the body?

from catalog..
"Black rubber used for setting the glass in the frame. Coat with oil when installing, makes it slide in easier and will cause rubber to swell for a tight fit. U.S.A."

Thanks Denny, guess I bought the wrong stuff again, what's with these suppliers? Snyders and Brattons still don't know what it takes?
