window problem

Im having trouble with a front door window on a 34 4dr sedan. The window goes up and down ok but when you get to the top and the window goes sideways it gets stuck and wont go back down unless you push in on it from outside the car. I don't see anything that should push the glass inward except a small piece of rubber that's too small to do anything. I bought a window channel kit from Vintique but don't see anything that would help or any place on the door it would go. Can anybody help me out?

You do realize that '34 was the first year that Ford windows were designed to actually slide REARWARD if you continue winding, once they reach the top. This was Ford's attempt at better interior ventilation.

It's possible your whiskers are so badly worn that the window pane is allowed to flop too far outward once it moves rearward, to line-up properly and be able to move forward again. DD

There is a large pin on the glass channel and cams built into the regulator. Together they move the glass forward and rearward. They have to act together so make sure one is not missing the other.

I don't know similar a '34 window regulator is to a '38 but this video helped me with the window in my '37 sedan. I had spent hours trying to get the front driver's side window working and after viewing/studying this video I got it working in about 30 minutes.

That's a good video with a lot of basic similarities but the shape of things like access holes and cam slide back feature is way different. As a side note--- the 34 repo metal glass channel seems to have the screw in stop pin in the wrong place and the cam roller is not the same distance down from the channel--- . If not corrected they will never work.
