Do anyone have any good tips on installing a door window in a 36 pick up--I'm having trouble with the long slot not engaging the knob on the regulator.

Do you have the stops removed from the lower channel? I think it is still a good website. Go to www.35Fordpickup. Search around a little bit and look for installing window glass. Read what all he went through. It should help you quite a bit if you can pull it up.

not sure if this helps,if we are talking same thing? but i replaced window in my 36 coupe, if its a similar mechanism, i could not get the stud to engage in the radious slot on regulator it kept jamming, left it out, window goes up and down no probs, i think its the position where you mount the glass in the channel not exact?

Wow that is a good time, Window was pretty easy but all the things that needed to go in first kinda sucked. :D 1 down may be over hung in the morning.

Most of the time when you have this problem the glass is not positioned in the channel correctly. If you have the regulator installed in the door and the arms in the down position, put the glass front end first, then slowly position it in the level position as you go down until you get it to the arms. Work the arms into the channel slots and crank the arms up a bit. Reinstall the knob and if everything is in the correct position you ar good to go. Installing the door glass is not that hard if you go at it in the correct order.
If you have the correct bottom glass channel, which is the same length as the bottom of the glass it is easy. Lots of the aftermarket channel is "universal" or made to fit several models and getting the glass in the correct position is trial and error.

I had the door lock and remote control out , I could not get it in without dissasembly? The Pasenger side lock was a hoot as well.
