my door window glass jammed in up position one riser arm had come out of its track, removed door card and managed to free it but the glass came out (had a crack anyway) the mechanism now goes down at quite a severe angle? which binds the glass, where as the other side winds down horizontal, tried to remove the mechanism to have a look as one arm seems a little bent but cant really tell. but i could not get the mechanism out of the hole in door is there a trick to this? thanks.

To remove all this stuff from inside the door you need to remove all the screws holding the mech to the door, and by a combination of winding the mechanism and 'juggling' it all get it in the lowered position. Then you can access the screw/roller/nut assembly that is situated midway along the glass channel, and remove this assembly. Then wind the entire mechanism up again, then you can slide the rollers out of the channels they run in. Allow the mechanism to drop to bottom of the door. Rotate the window 90 degrees and lift up and out through the opening. The winder mech comes out the cut out area in the inner door panel. Brian

Brian, they do come out you have to roll down or up to get to the right spot then work it through the hole. Check the arms for alignment also the window channel for rust. clean and lightly grease everything. Make sure the front and rear slide channels are in position and attached on the lower ends with screws. assembly is the fun part good luck.

had a go today, took a grinder and removed 2" section between the large and small door holes to make a bigger hole, will weld back later, turned complete mechanism upside down did not remove anything from it and managed to jiggle/force it out lol! in one complete piece, looks like i am missing the running peg? which runs inside a large radious slot which keeps both the risers level, will make something up to do the job, will post a pic when done.

The running peg you allude to actually is what moves the window forward once it reaches top of its travel. Brian
