Window Channel 47 Ford convertible

I'm looking for some help. I have a 1947 Ford convertible. There is a channel on the back side of each vent-window frame that the driver/passenger window fits in. Inside that channel is a black felt-like material that protects the driver/passenger window frame from scratches. My fuzzy felt-like material is worn out. Can I replace just that our do I need to replace the entire vent-window frame? What exactly is the item called? Does anyone have a part number?

You can buy a window channel kit from C&G part # 21A-45983-C. Requires removing door upholstery, pulling the vent assembly and window glass.
