Windlace strips

Has anybody been successful with the aftermarket windlace rivet strips?
I need a pair for a 29 Tudor and they do not appear to be formed or contoured to the door post, so I am wondering if the are easy to bend and rivet.

I installed a set of door windlace strips on my '29 Tudor that, as I recall, I may have bought from Bratton's. I thought the job was not at all difficult and was very pleased with the result. Gar Williams

Aren't the repros made out of aluminum and a tad off in shape? Farrell, to be honest, I am trying to make a couple of sets out of steel for a really early '28 (before March 1928) on my Pullmax and they are kickin' my hind-end!! There is an ever so slight upset (bead) that I am having trouble keeping the dies defined due to premature wear in the dies. I may have to end up making them in a bead roller however even then will likely create the same problem with rollers on such a small production run.

Have you talked with Steve Becker to see if he has some originals for sale?

No I have not contacted anyone about originals as of yet, I know from doing the coupe, these bits are rare to find in good shape. I had to repair one then and I can feel your pain in trying to copy them. Just wondering if any had experience with the repops.
